Recreate the experience of a troop train departing Canberra on ANZAC Day as steam locomotive 5917 departs with authentic WWII era carriages on a one-way trip to Goulburn.
Bring the troops (young and old) to experience the locomotive working hard as it climbs the steep grade by the spectacular Molongolo River Gorge, through long, dark tunnels and on through beautiful rural countryside of the Southern Tablelands.
5917 is one of the D59 Class 2-8-2 'Mikado' steam locomotives used by the NSW Government Railways after WWII.
Ticketing options are perfect for singles, couples, small groups and families.
Please Note: Fare are for one-way travel. Return to Canberra is by own arrangements. The train will arrive in Goulburn in time for the afternoon NSW TrainLink service back to Canberra (please book separatly), or simply arrange a driver for the family SUV to meet the train at Goulburn (or Bungendore or Tarago).

Family of Four — $120 per family
Four seat booth in a heritage railway carriage with table.
First Class Duo — $100 for two people
Window seating for two people in a classic heritage carriage in a spacious booth with table.
First Class Single — $50 per person
Single seat ticket in a First Class section with table.

Toddlers: Babies in arms and small toddlers not requiring a booked seat may be brought along at no aditional cost.
The Buffet Car will not be available for this service.
We encourage passengers to bring their own picnic hampers, sit back and enjoy the ride.
BYO alcohol is allowed, however, large eskys will not be permitted
Toilets are available in all carriages and will be locked off while in metropolitan areas.
There are no charging points on the heritage equipment. It is recommended that you bring an external battery charger for your mobile devices.
Passengers are asked to wear a face masks when boarding and alighting from the train
We recommend wearing face masks while seated and not eating or drinking
Passengers are asked to remain in their allocated seats as far as pracical
Passengers are required to follow all instructions from their carriage attendant

If the train is cancelled due to NSW Health restrictions, a full refund of the ticket price will be provided
