Enjoy riding behind steam power on a journey through the Hunter Valley from Maitland to Murrurundi (return) on Saturday, 2 April 2022 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Great Northern Railway reaching the town.
We have ticketing options available encompassing NSW Covid-Safe regulations.
You are able to start your journey at Maitland, Singleton or Muswellbrook railway stations, travelling through to Murrurundi at the foot of the Liverpool Ranges.
After arrival at Murrurundi, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the many charms of this picturesque town and participate in all the 150th celebrations on the day.
If lunching in Murrurundi, please book beforehand to avoid disappointment.

Private Compartment — $500 per group
Enjoy the benefit of an entire closed-off compartment to yourselves — great for families and social groups!
One booking is good for up to a maximum of eight people, including children.
Family of Four — $300 per family
Four seat booth with a table in a heritage saloon carriage.
Classic Duo — $200 for two people
Window seating for two people in a classic saloon carriage in a spacious booth with table.
First Class Single — $115 per person
Single seat ticket in a First Class section with table.

Buffet Car:
The Buffet car will not be available for this trip. We encourage passengers to bring their own picnic hampers.
BYO alcohol is allowed, however, large eskys will not be permitted
Toilets:
Toilets are available in all carriages and will be locked off while in metropolitan areas.
Mobile Phones:
There are no charging points on the heritage equipment. It is recommended that you bring an external battery charger for your mobile devices.
Motive Power:
Our plan is to utilise steam motive power in both directions for the Murrurundi 150th Picnic Train.
Condition of Travel:

Passengers are asked to wear a face masks when boarding and alighting from the train
